Hi, I have had the same issues for over two years now. I have had my thyroid meds switched around multiple times. I am now on T3 and T4 separately vs Armour which has them both. Anecdotal here. Detoxadine normalized my thyroid levels in about 2 months on blood tests. Went from about a 6.5 TSH, to about a 2. I was asked about levothyroxine after testing higher, but I declined, and then at the retest, they were normal. Sleep issues tend to be due to high histamine which is a stimulant, a high glutamate/GABA ratio and high cortisol which sensitizes the nervous system. That might sound counter to your experience with licorice but it is the general rule IMO. Yea the temperature reset with hot baths is the same. It also involves taking t4 and or t3. I see nothing wrong with natural thyroid supplementation. Sauna will accomplish the same thing or similar. It’s not just about eating more it’s about tweaking calorie sources. Ie test out both starch and fruit to see which one is better. Test your amounts of saturated fats and also as a ratio to total calorie intake. And test higher protein and lower protein, both animal and vegetable. You need to start taking Iodine, Lugol’s 5% solution. Thyroxine and other drugs don’t help the thyroid they mask symptoms. That’s the problem with hashimotos, it’s an autoimmune that attacks the thyroid, not a thyroid disease. Just in case people are still reading this thread - not sure about sulphur etc that others mentioned, but mag oil absolutely works for me!! I follow a keto diet and my body no longer had to hold on to so much water.
