Yea the temperature reset with hot baths is the same. It also involves taking t4 and or t3. I see nothing wrong with natural thyroid supplementation. Sauna will accomplish the same thing or similar.
It's not just about eating more it's about tweaking calorie sources. Ie test out both starch and fruit to see which one is better. Test your amounts of saturated fats and also as a ratio to total calorie intake. And test higher protein and lower protein, both animal and vegetable.

You might also be an adrenal case where even slight gas increase on the thyroid is stressing adrenals.
