Lots of people like mag citrate, but I haven't tried it. It's a lot like Epsom Salts , which is mag sulfate.
See, that's one of the main problems with going by the book. There's NO WAY those proportions and recommendations are correct for everybody!!!
I have a large jar that I make taste the way I want, and that's about all I drik of the Master-Cleanse drink when fasting or replacing a meal. IT's VERY filling as you now know! So don't go by the book. Go by your BODY and what it tells you!!! The body never lies. :)
Use less maple syrup, that's no problem at all. As long as you're getting 1 tsp a day, and 1 lemon juiced a day, and taking in cayenne, you're fine adn should have a valuable experience. :)
