Re: Good fasting procedure?
Hi Kathy! Welcome to the forum. :)
For your digestive upset problems, please read my "increasing digestive power" notes. Tons of things you can do to help that. Also the TEA recommendations. You should drink plenty of tea while fasting.
Best fast for Pitta is a combo fast. You should have a Master Cleanser drink a day, that is:
8
oz water
juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
1 teaspoon of grade B maple syrup
small dash of cayenne pepper (optional for Pitta)
add 1 tsp or tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar.
You really should make up a pot of Potassium Broth. Peel potatos so the skins are like 1/2" thick, chop carrots, parsley, 1 beet and tops, cabbage. Simmer on low heat for an hour, drink just the broth, throw the veggies out. Drink just that and water for a day. If you fast more than 4 days, have it again.
Recommended juice:
Mostly carrot, an apple or two (pref. green), handful of parsley.
OR carrot/apple/ and 1/2 beet OR carrot/apple/kale or spinach.
Cucumber juice is very purifying for the skin. Mix it with
Celery and carrot and beet for best flavor.
If you start feeling weak, have a fruit juice day, preferably cranberry or green grape. NO orange juice!!!
Drink Yogi Tea's Egyptian Licorice Mint, as much as you want, and Chamomile at night.
Be sure to drink a fiber drink at least once a day, the P&B shakes are what we recommend but you can get a commercial intestinal cleanser like
Dr. Schulze #2. Consider doing a Salt Water Flush and/or
colonic at least 3x a week.
Be sure to take in a bit of good salt each day, such as Celtic
Sea Salt .
If you have any farmer's markets near you, even if they're not totally organic they're still pretty safe. That's how I save money on produce. :)
Good luck and feel free to keep in touch while you fast!
