Re: Lapis
"There are natural laws, and cause and effect scenarios that no matter what 'your' belief is as an individual self, will still be subject to the cause and effect result because of the mind-set of other-selves."
yup. It's a big world. Dimensions and dimensions....(forget about worlds)
btw This is not so much directed at you Lapis, as just a response
that any can read...
But I would put *natural* in quotes, to be precise. Because that too, is less than Liberation and subject to the laws of karma.
This is basic Buddhadharma--or
"what Buddha (Siddhartha) taught"
and can be umbrella'd as
the first "noble truth".
There are four noble truths
and that is sufficient
for the foundation.
After that, the house goes up,
and finally the builder is found,
and once found, (generally lounging,
or perhaps furiously hammering)
shall *build no more*!!
ah! Freedom!
(Please note Buddha was no more
"Buddhist" than Jesus was
"Christian"
this (suffering and being subject to) was the first "truth"
often roughly translated (and not nearly understood, because
--well, it's depressing) as: "there is suffering"
oh, there's a film called Siddhartha --I saw it at sixteen and it inspired me to learn meditation. It's worth seeing, I think. Very lovely as I recall.
A bit like Brother Sun Sister Moon...
yes, there is suffering, but there is a way out of suffering ~!
