If you have skin parasites (yellowish ear drainage does not sound like skin parasites), it will take AT LEAST a year for you to get them to move from your facial/head cavities. Have you gotten a culture done? Did it show staph or gram neg bacteria? Antibiotics usually only have a suppressive effect in this case. I only suggest this because your derm thinks it’s an inflammatory condition. Perhaps it is, but an elevated neutrophil count is highly indicative of a bacterial infection. Maybe they did test this, and you can find it on your lab reports. I would also suggest that your immunoglobins be checked (such as IgE, etc.). Personally I would not take their word for what you have as gospel, because sometimes they don’t always know with real certainty. I’m inclined to think it is a standard form of folliculitis, but obviously the infection seen here is pretty severe, so has probably been going on for quite some time now. I’ve little doubt that there will be at least some scaring if he the poster finally manages to find a cure, but to what extent would be best determine once the infection has been killed off. I too have had that problem. I used to treat my scalp with sulfur (Nustock) but I have found that MSM is far superior and it seems to kill everything and promotes hair regrowth. MSM is also a sulfur compound and do some research...it is fantastic for hair and skin. I use MSM cream on my face for demodex mites....might mix it with a bit of pine oil (aromatherapy) or a bit of tea tree....but have discovered that if I dilute the MSM with hot water and syringe it on my scalp, it seems to be working very well without lots of oil on my scalp.
