Re: peeling lips (off topic)

I also suffer from this condition: the cycle repeats itself (half of the skin on my lower lip peels, new skin underneath looks ok, but dries out and hardens in a few days, goes white when contacts liquid, peels off once a week).

I have been told by specialists that its in the family of conditions called: orofacial granulomatosis. I'm not sure if exfolliative cheilitis falls under this category.

I have tried elimination diets, bacterial/viral/mouth ulcer medications, steroidal injections to reduce inflammation, I've had a biopsy, leaving it to heal by itself, various moisturising products etc. Nothing has helped so far.

I've had it for 7 yrs now, since I was 16. Its been tough. I've read every message on this forum though and have noted some stuff down, and will look into it.

Its comforting knowing there are people out there with the same condition. I think its useful having a forum like this.
