I've browsed through all the messages; very interesting as I have had these symptoms too for about 4 years. What is strange is that about 30 years ago, I had these symptoms but only for a few months and then all of a sudden 30 years later...ka..boom back again! Telling someone to not lick their lips, to me, is like telling someone to stop breathing! We have to eat, drink, brush teeth, etc. so lets be realistic here. It is almost impossible to keep saliva or water or other liquids from coming in contact with the lips. I am going to try the Vitamin A mixed with cream for a few days and see how that works. Then, I may try the Aloe and see if that helps. Also, I find it interesting that anxiety plays a role; however, I wonder if anxiety enters the picture AFTER you have been coping with this for sometime...which comes first "the chicken or the egg" type situation. Are you anxious before the lip problem...or anxious after the lip problem...or a little of both, eh? thanks for all of your messages; at least, I know I am NOT ALONE. I have not found a dermatologist yet that is sympathetic to this condition.
