Yes! There is no guarantee with the human psyche! Narcissists and sociopaths can look people dead in the eye and fabricate deceptions without breaking a sweat. Without going into a long thing over the personality disorders, it's interesting how long someone can go before they trip up on their own deceptions and how quickly others will "forgive" the slipups.

My ex was profoundly adept at deception and, to my knowledge, he's lost all of his former "friends" and acquaintances for one reason or another. I don't know the details and I don't want to know them - suffice it to say, "What goes around will come around."
