Re: To be continued...
I ran into some problems so I broke this six days ago. This means I only made it three hours short of the 15 day mark. I owe the Lord 25 five days and three more hours. I was afraid to go back on it not knowing what was causing my heart to do strange things. I noticed on the water-only days I was ok, but going back to the healthy liquids was causing a problem. I am not in shape to do forty days water-only especially when having to hold down a job so I chose to break. I questioned whether my heart could stand forty days of this. Last year I did not have this problem so I was really confused. My heart went back to normal beating right away after I started eating food. This made absolutely no sense to me. I sought the Lord as to what was the cause and for direction. I believe I got my answer yesterday while listening to Jim's Unlocking the Secrets of Fasting series listed under his UNLOCKING KINGDOM MYSTERIES teachings on his website. Thank God I learned that I could still listen to his stuff if I clicked the MP3 link. I don't know why clicking on the title of the message does not work anymore.
I had previously purchased some raw cacao powder from a raw food website. This was advertised as being an important and healthy part of a raw food diet. I was making a hot liquid drink with it adding stevia and sometimes raw honey. It helped a lot to kill the feelings of hunger. I listened to Jim as he talked about the effects of caffeine on the heart. Then it all started making sense to me. It was the raw cacao powder, I am pretty sure, as that has caffeine in it. I have a very sensitive system. Although I joke about drinking soda, I really do not have enough of them to be addicted to the caffeine in them. I don't normally keep them at home and when I don't have them I am fine. I just start craving them when I am around a vending machine where I can buy them. It's a psychological thing. I don't drink coffee at all so I know I am not addicted to caffeine. Well, praise the Lord. I believe this was an answer to prayer. We will see. I plan to start again soon to finish out the rest of the time without the cacao powder. Hopefully, I will make it all the way through this time without having to take a break. :)
