Re: Another update

Thanks for still reading Vektek. I'm on day 2 water only and have today and tomorrow off. I'm wondering how it will go. So far I'm feeling great. I am waiting to get past day 20 for the total commitment. Once over the hump it should be all downhill to day 40.:) We will see.

I wish I were flying with eagles, but I still have a lot more waiting on the Lord to do. The Lord is no respecter of persons. That means anybody can wait on the Lord and can look forward to the promise in Isaiah 40. I am excited about the day when my strength will be renewed. I am excited about the day when I will be able to run without weariness.

The Lord has designed us so that when we fast it will bring healing in the natural to our sick bodies. He also provided us with healing by the stripes of Jesus. I believe that when fasting unto the Lord, both are at work. Of course, you don't have to be fasting to be healed by the stripes of Jesus. I just think it may be easier to receive this gift from God when we fast.

Having said that I do believe the most important benefit of fasting is to draw closer to God. Nothing in life is more important than a close intimate relationship with God. Nothing in life is better. He will not turn us away for He has also promised us: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4:8 NASB

Fasting is a way to draw near to God.
