Thank you, Ed. Nice hearing from you again. :) I haven't been able to try the dry fast yet. My thirst has subsided some, but I still get a dry mouth if I do not sip water. I wonder if I should force it or wait until the thirst dies down some more.
It sounds like you would really be going against your bodily signals at this point. If it were me and a natural thirst-less state did not arise that you could surrender to comfortably, at least initially, i would continue to satisfy thirst as you are doing :).
Dry fasting is best entered into as an expression of "water-only fast drinking only according to thirst". Absence of thirst leads to a reasonably comfortable dry segment within your water-only fast which may last 14 hours or may become 7 days :). Later into the dry fast (if it starts out comfortably), i will resist thirst which i would call light to moderate, but will generally drink once the thirst becomes moderate and persisting or especially once it becomes moderate to heavy. I pushed harder than that once but learned an important lesson.
