Re: Cutaneous Larva Migrans / Hookworm

Man, I feel for ya brother, I know only too well what you're going through. One thing I've observed with mine is the way the larva/eggs actually migrate. With mine the adult worms lay sided-by-side under the migrating 'tunnel' and (I'm guessing) coax the larva along using body movements. This may be a phenomenah only with mine, I don't know. I've spent countless hours trying to identify what parasite I have to no avail. I honestly think now I acquired some one-time anomaly, some critter/spore/larva got lodged in my sinus years ago and learned to survive there by adapting to it's new surroundings and producing young that maybe went through genetic, perhaps even evolutionary adaptation changes in order to adapt. I live near the National parasite Collection in Beltsville MD and one day soon I'm going over there with some pix and questions.

Anyway, I've found that anything with linement-type ingredients like menthol in it they hate. Mine also hate things that rob them of air or light, like an acclusive bandage. There's also a hospital ointment called Calmoseptine that's mainly Zinc Oxide, menthol, and calamine, that really draws them out of any break in the skin and holds them until you wipe the mess off.
