Re: Cutaneous Larva Migrans / Hookworm

Hookworm larvae do not always enter through your feet. I have two cats and have a humidity problem in my condo. The cats sometimes bring the larvae away from their letterbox into carpet or sleeping quarters including my bed. Additionally, before I ever heard of this I was I supposedly careless while cleaning their litter boxes. One cat kicks the litter hard. I had to buy new top entry litter boxes. One cat is half feral and it is a days work to treat him with Revolution. Since I changed the litter boxes to top entry reducing the amt of dirty litter on the floor by over 90%. I have less exposure. I have read that besides the CLM you can breathe in airborne eggs not visible to the human eye. Before changing litter box types I had to sweep all the time. Using broom and dustpan would expose my hands.
I now where gloves and disposable face asks when I clean the boxes.
One cat treated yesterday. Freakish cat getting treated today. Why can't we take Revolution. ? :)

Back to CLM. I have 'entry points' on my hands, arms, thighs, one on forehead I believe, feet (top not bottom) and calf. Definitely not limited to feet. Even if you get them from the beach you can lie on the sand and they can enter anywhere.

I can no longer stand the pruritis (itching) which seems to happen all over not just at entry sites. Even my scalp itches and for a while I thought I had live. Was checked, nope.
My itching happens mostly at night. Maybe between midnight and 6am. I cannot sleep!!!!!

To top this all off I am weak maybe a little anemic so it's difficult to get
energy to bring myself to doc and cats to vet. Also I cannot think straight. I am really tempted to go to doc and try the icky med route.

One more thing. Anyone's poop smell more potent than usual with hookworm?
Thx
