Re: Cutaneous Larva Migrans / Hookworm

I'm in this boat!! I finally found a match to the parasite that's eating me alive. It is pelodera strongyloides. It came from my cat, and is some kind of nematode/roundworm. My suggestion is find a doctor from a country that has experience with parasites. My doc is from the Philippines and he never acted like I was nuts. I thought originally I had a fly larvae infestation inside me. I self treated, because the ER doctors I saw said I needed a nap and Xanax. My last doc appt, my symptoms were controlled, or so I thought, so my doc gave me cream for the infection these monsters have created in my skin. Yesterday, however, one of the larvae were on my leg and I got a good look at it. I searched for the last day and night until I found it. I now have to see doc again, but I feel comfortable that he will treat me with respect, as he always does. Good luck and I hope this helps someone. God knows I needed help. This has been a three year nightmare. It's not over yet, but I hope it will be soon.
