Re: Fasting (to completion?) - My Journey to Health

Hi there considerablespeck - looks like I've got a fasting buddy :)

If you are trying to research all you can, I urge you to peruse the "prescribed text" for water fasting, it's quite comprehensive, and I'm sure you will get some valuable information from it:

A lot of people seem to discuss it on this forum, and that's how I came to know about it. Its a fascinating piece of literature.

Well it's certainly great to have someone in the same boat. I hope your first attempt at fasting goes well :)

Some incentive and inspiration for you: after just a few DAYS of fasting (I did a few two day fasts before this one) my bum and thighs are looking much more toned and less lumpy. Also, tummy looks almost "normal" (aside from the fat) compared to the usual "3 months pregnant" bloated look I've been walking around with for so long I can't tell you. I used to wear tight fitting clothes without a problem. These days it's all about covering up my belly, because of its disproportion to the rest of my body. It's quite wrong. I don't know how you get a pot belly on an otherwise petite girl - but I've got one! (Or at least I did until I stopped eating). I also prepared for this fast by drinking lots of cabbage juice in the week or so beforehand, as well as barley water, potato soup, glutamine and "Motion Potion" (a fantastic product I highly recommend to everybody) to help heal my inflamed gut lining. This has helped significantly with the acid burning feeling I experienced last time, so hunger pangs are less intense.

I agree it's hard to get support, especially when people aren't educated about fasting vs starving etc.

Good luck and please keep in contact - would love to follow your progress and compare stories.

Cheers!
