Re: Fasting (to completion?) - My Journey to Health
Great! I've got me a fan! Cool, this is going to be so much easier with support - I can tell already :)
Thanks so much for the input, I will take all that on board. Yeah I've spent quite a few hours reading fasting literature in bed this afternoon, and I do find it really helps stave off the hunger and build the motivation. I'm going to keep that up for the next couple of days to break through the hard bit. I've already scheduled a week off from all commitments, so I'm free to work on other "cleansing" tasks - such as sorting my computer files. As within, so without.
As for the muscle preservation thing, I guess I need to do my research on that, but whether I keep up the exercise or not really depends on my energy levels during the fast. I'm optimistic that my energy from fat burning will be sufficient to at least exercise gently, and it helps me mentally too (even just the fresh air).
Well, so far so good. I felt great this morning, but my energy has dropped a bit this afternoon (I'm in Australia BTW) and I've had a few hunger pangs, but nowhere near as bad as yesterday (which was when I broke my last attempt). My BMR seems to have come down and I've gotten quite cold in the last few hours. This is to be expected, but perhaps a little early.
I think it's made easier by the fact that I only ate one meal and got straight back on the horse again, so the process has been much quicker. We'll see what tomorrow brings...
In the mean time I'm feeling well and not light-headed or dizzy at all. No headaches or nausea and minimal hunger (compared to previous attempts). I think my body is adjusting.
I just love the way my skin feels when I'm fasting - soooo soft! Especially when I wake up in the morning! The inflammation is right down and pimples start to disappear very quickly. That in itself is evidence enough for me that fasting helps cure acne.
Must keep going this time!
