Re: No candida but white coated tongue?? Any advice
Hi again,
You had asked about my diet...I eat very healthy too...mostly protein (fish, beef, bison, chicken, turkey, pork), organic veggies, nuts, a little bit of fruit, a few grains (amaranth, quinoa, rice, millet), and beans (but not often). I eat a lot of fat in the day as well and have wondered if this is putting too much stress on my liver. I have eaten like this way for about 2 years ...believe me I have a hamburger or a sandwich once in a while..but that is a rarity. To be honest I feel better once I eat more food or have more carbs..I have a lot more energy.
From all three of the dr.'s I've seen about this..they say a stool sample is usually pretty accurate for candida. It may miss some
parasites but for candida they said it is usually correct. My stool sample came back positive for a bacterial overgrowth the first time and no candida or
parasites and then the next time negative for bacteria, candida, and parasites....although I still have a white tongue. There is also a blood test out there called the Immune Complex Test that is for candida and is very sensitive for it...I have yet to get the results back from that.
One of my dr.'s seems to think I have a bacterial infection (this is just a guess through muscle testing)....I did feel better on taking
Colloidal Silver and my tongue got better but it never did go away completely. Like i said I've tried digestive enzymes, antifungas and natural
Antibiotics and it didn't go completely away...it only got better with the natural
Antibiotics and then would come back again within a few weeks..almost like it would get a resistance to the
Antibiotics .
Now I'm going to an integrative dr...who's an md but prescribes mostly natural supplements etc. He seems to think I have something going on with my liver...like it's overloaded and I'm having a difficult time detoxing. I do feel better when i take an
Epsom Salt bath....and sometimes my tongue will fade after that. He also told me that I am low on salt...so I've been having
Sea Salt 5 x per day with water. This new dr. does extensive blood testing vs. muscle testing and he has over 30 years of experience. He feels that once he can get my immune system up to speed again that whatever infection if there is one....or parasites/candida etc. will be taken care of by my immune system. I found out I'm hypothyroid and have hormone issues so we're working on getting those figured out to help boost my overall immune.
As I've been researching this white tongue thing it seems as though there can be a lot of different reasons as to why one gets it:
From what I read it can be from:
a bacterial infection
parasites
candida
detoxing
liver issues
problems digesting food
acid reflux
dehydration
tooth infection
low immune system
I've tried to figure this out too and have been struggling trying to make sense of it all. Overall I feel pretty good but this white tongue thing is driving me nuts...I feel like something must be out of balance. I also find if I am stressed my white tongue gets worse..probably b/c my immune system is down then.
Any other thoughts or comments are welcomed. It really is great to talk to someone else about this!
