No candida but white coated tongue?? Any advice
Curezoners:
Yes I did a search and spent quite a bit of time readiing, but do feel that many of us who have coated tongues have different reasons for them.
I'm at my wits end with my white coated tongue! For a while I felt strongly that I had a yeast over-growth. I went on a strict strict anti-candida diet and most of the symptoms I had at the time (nothing major) all improved except for my white coated tongue.
I then started working with a naturo-path and went through a series of testing. One of which was the Metametrix GI Effects Stool Test. That test came back negative for yeast and parasites. My beneficial bacteria numbers were all within range, yet my white tongue persists.
I've seen pictures of thrush online and I really don't think I have thrush. My coating is in the shape of a V and at times looks pink with a very very thin coating, which I've heard is normal. While at other times its very thick and won't go away.
I have absolutely zero digestive symptoms, I have very good elimination (1-2x a day), I'm healthy, have great sleep and am very fit. So what gives??
I'm starting to look into other causes and so far I've come up with:
Iodine deficiency: I use
Sea Salt without iodine
HCL deficiency: perhaps I'm not digesting my food efficiently and its causing the coating
I have very healthy teeth, just went to the dentist for a cleaning, I brush 2x a day, floss 2x a day so I know it can't be plaque build up? I don't have any dairy in my diet either.
Any help would be great.
