Many people in Texas, Louisiana, Puerto Rico, etc. are going to have to replace birth certificates that have been lost. Many of those people have been born on Military Bases in Military Hospitals and they WILL NOT be able to recover their birth certificates from the state where they were born. After Katrina, a few friends and I began ”adopting hurricane victims.” A name and address was given to a person and he/she sent a care package.........nothing expensive....nothing fancy..... The other day I was talking to my friend who lives on the Gulf Coast. She told me that she and her husband had taken their boat out the other day. They like to go to Cat Island and spend the day, but this day they passed by another island called Ship Island and were in total amazement when they watched an 18 wheeler truck wash up on the shore at Ship Island!!!!!!!! Hurricane season begins June 1, so we have three weeks to go. Our electric company is a tri-state company and held a meeting last week where their feeling is this year will be a repeat of last year. They are expecting a hurricane as big as Katrina.. if not bigger. Tonight Extreme Home Makeovers focused on Biloxi, Mississippi. The team went in and rebuilt a medical clinic that was destroyed, delivered washers and dryers to people living in FEMA trailers and made a memorial to the people who lived and the ones who died.
