Good article

You know, the next several days there will be so many Katrina stories. The newspaper was full of them today.

After reading this article, I was saddened to realize the White House knew beforehand about the levees. But, when the levees were built, there were so many corrupt Louisana politicians who knew the levees weren't being built properly. They were caring more about how much money was going into their pockets. So, the levees were never going to hold back that water. That has been a well known fact for a long time. If there was another Katrina today, guess what? The same thing would happen again. NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

But, suppose the White House had notified these 1500 (now dead) people to get out of NO because the levees were going to break......Where would they have gone? The reason they didn't leave in the first place was because most of them had no money to leave NO. They had no car. They had nothing, so they were stuck. Even with mandatory evacuations, these people still stayed right there because they couldn't leave.

The last time I was in NO is probably going to be the last time I will EVER go to NO. It's a horrible place now.

Everyone who reads this post, please remember that my beloved Mississippi Coast took the DIRECT HIT from Katrina. We have said little. We just jumped in and started helping each other. Yes, we have a long way to go, but we have come so far.
