So, I was in Target today....
I was shopping today and I overheard this guy talking on his
Cell Phone . From his conversation, I learned he is an executive with an insurance company. He was already lining up insurance claims adjustors along the Gulf Coast gearing up for the upcoming hurricane season. He was beginning with his lineup along the Houston, Texas coastline and moving eastward.
Well, my little buggy and I followed a safe distance behind him. I further learned that this guy is so sure we are going to have a very bad hurricane season in the US. He had been on the phone with the Hurricane Center in Miami and learned all this depressing news. He ended his conversation by saying he was the one who kept telling everyone in his company last year it would be a mild season and it was. He now says this year will be bad and we will have many hurricanes.
Well, this is awful news. Two years later after Katrina, people are still in tents on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. FEMA trailers are everywhere down there and there's no way that area will withstand another hurricane. A friend recently got a 12 year contract to go out into the Gulf and retrieve debris from the bottom of the water. So far, he picked up houses, trucks, you name it.....it's on the bottom of the Gulf......He also said 12 years is not enough time for him to get everything that is there.
