LOLOL....I bet a huge numbers of us are living in little houses....with piles of papers and books...little research nooks and crannies all over the country.
I think you'll really like the mineralization stuff a lot. You're in the Sierras right??? So you might have a good supply of minerals already....Ga soil is horrible and lots has to be done to it. Plus we have high humidity that leaches like crazy...very frustrating for farmers. But our mid-state peach growing are ("She's a Ga peach" didn't come from thin air) underlain with lots of calcium sedimentary rock. The peach trees are pulling in the calcium and that's the basis of their fabulous taste and sweetness. I go south every summer to buy boxes of fresh picked ones to freeze. I can't find organic but decided the hell with pesticides sprayed on them. These are amazing high brix peaches and taste out of this world.
The area of Fla...Indian River..that produces wonderful grapefruit and oranges also has a lots of bio-available calcium in the soil.
Sounds lovely where you live...and lots of work. I grew up in different homes we renovated. At 12 I was up on scaffolding painting and putting up wallboard. OMG...I understand how much work you're doing!
