You have asked one dentist. This is akin to aking one religous person about a god-related topic. Depending on the philosophy and training of the one you ask, you will receive a different answer if you ask more than one religious person.
Same with dentistry, different dentists will give different answers. You are perfectly allowed to accept the opinion of just one, and you are perfectly allowed to proceed to ask others, the choice is yours.
