Re: 7-year-old daughter
Hi,
I'll tell you what we did for cleansing. I'll also be up front - I was so impressed with this line of cleansers and supplements that I became a distributor. That being said, I'm not a high-powered salesperson and I sell the products as a sideline, not a "job", so I'm not just here trying to make $$$.
We used, and actually all my family used, WOW colon cleanser. It is herbal and you take it for a month or two until the cleansing is complete. It works by softening the old, hard debris caked in the colon (called chyme) and that comes out in the bowel movements. I remember when I did my first
Colon Cleanse that about the third week my normal bowel movement would have these twists of black in it. That was the chyme coming out.
With my daughter, she had tried Adderall (for ADHD, which it ends up she didn't have) for two weeks in January, and had severe side effects, one of which was insomnia. A lifelong terrific sleeper, now she woke up every morning at 3 a.m. and couldn't sleep after that. We were told the half-life of the drug would dissipate within 2 weeks and then she would be back to normal. NOT TRUE. She continued on this pattern until after school, in late May, when I did the WOW with her. The fifth day of the WOW, she slept through the night, and has ever since. Apparently her liver cannot process the prescription drugs, and the milk thistle in the WOW helped break that down. That was when I was sold, and knew that the WOW actually worked.
Colon cleansing is basically worthless if you're going to continue on in a bad nutritional lifestyle, but as a jump start to a new way of living, it can't be beat. It does get rid of a lot of toxins, and sets up the colon to work more efficiently.
I'm sure there are other good cleansers out there, but please AVOID SENNA, which is in many natural products and creates dependency. Also, psyllium husk does scrape the colon, and has a laxative effect, but many mistake it for a colon cleanse. Psyllium, on its own, does NOT cleanse the old caked on stuff in the colon.
Also, about the plastics - I really try not to store things long-term in plastic, but I do use water bottles and baggies and such. It's pretty hard to stay away from them. There are many grades and types of plastics, some much more prone to leaching and outgassing than others. I'd research before you go crazy trying to avoid all plastics.
