Dear Rainbird,
My daughter is now 9 1/2. For me, the big help was going to a specialist to find out what was going on inside her body. They can measure adrenal output, which can tell you how her adrenal hormones are functioning, and also they did a bone density scan which told "how old" her bones were in development vs. her real age. These, if severely out of whack, can indicate the need for some kind of medication (although I go all other routes before meds). In my daughter's case, her adrenal level was elevated, but not enough to warrant meds. Same case with the bone scan - she was a bit ahead of her age, but not markedly so.
You might give a bit more info on your daughter as well. As I mentioned previously, the adrenal hormones have to do with body hair,
Body Odor , and acne, and the estrogen hormones have to do with breast development and menses.
For certain, even if you can't always eat perfectly, cut the foods that mess with hormones: that would be anything with soy (except for fermented soy like soy sauce or miso), meat from animals fed hormones, and milk or dairy products from animals fed hormones.
Depending on the age of your child, I'd also recommend a
Colon Cleanse to detoxify as much as possible. I have done this with my daughter with good results (this was done the summer after 1st grade, when she was 7 years old and about 60 lbs.). I know good products to use and certain products to avoid if you want to do this. Actually, over Christmas vacation would be a good time to start, as there is some unpredictability with the bathroom use!
Let me know more here, or if it's too personal, you can e-mail mer.
