Re: 7-year-old daughter

Dear Rainbird,

I would not make any child eat one thing for even one day. I don't believe fasting is in order for growing children, unless maybe fasting one meal for some specific purpose. My knowledge of citrus, is to avoid all citrus except for lemons and limes. Lemons and limes, while acidic in taste, actually have an alkaline effect on the body. Everyone in my family starts their day with a warm lemon drink. It cuts the acid, cuts the mucous, and gets the digestive tract off to a good start.

We never eat oranges, tangerines, or grapefruit at our house.

I'd recommend you research "on your own" anything you read as advice. It's your child, and you're the only one held responsible for what you do for her.

I'm going to respond to your e-mail later tonight!

Jeyar
