sprouted lentil soup, yummy!

well, like all my recipes i can tell you what i put in it, but not exact amounts cause i always just wing it! i know i should be more systematic, but thats just how it i cook.

anyway, the longer you sprout the lentils, the less time it takes to cook them. lentils are slow sprouters so it can take anywhere from 3 to 5 days to get fully sprouted lentils. but the thing is you can cook them at any time, its just that at 3 days they may take 50 min to and hour to fully cook, whereas at 5 days they may only take 20 mintues.

so i start out with some homemade chicken broth (i like making a big lot of it, then putting it in smaller mason jars and freezing it. then thawing it as needed) then some onions, garlic, carrots, curry powder, and some kelp. i add kelp to all my soups. throw it all together and cook at low to medium heat until the bean are soft.

thats the basic recipe. you can also add some tomatos paste, although i prefer italian seasoning with the tomato past instead of the curry. or you can add your choice of milk to make it creamy. you can use cows milk, or soy or almond milk, they all work.
