Re: Marnie
Thank you all for giving me your input - even though some of the responses were not of my personal beliefs, I appreciate the gesture all the same. I apologize for starting a religious debate, that certainly was not my intention - only to better educate myself on how God would want me to feed my family.
Vandy: I appreciate your input, but I have to respectfully say that we do not share the same beliefs. This is in response to your previous post and one down farther. I am well established in my belief, although I do need to catch up on the learning end of it. As far as there being many, many more books of the bible that are not actually in the bible as it exists today, I don't doubt the idea. However, I find the bible confusing enough, and feel that I personally need to concern myself with working on my walk with God the best way I can without adding further confusion. Regarding your post to Squeaky - according to the bible (as it exists today) God does not condemn cooked food. Rather, it is included in dozens and dozens of passages throughout the bible. I understand that MH and many others view cooked food as "dead", but I have to think that if Jesus fed it to thousands, it can't be that bad. God does not refer to foods as dead or alive, only clean and unclean. Don't take this to mean that I don't agree that raw foods are healthier - there is the story about Daniel (?) and the other 3 that were training to be in the king's court and refused the king's meals because they wanted to eat only fruits, nuts and berries - and at the end of training they were stronger and healthier than those that ate meat and bread, etc. The way I understand it, MH must be going back to the Garden of Eden in his way of thinking that only fruits, nuts and berries are to be eaten, because that is how God originally intended us to eat. Through more research I also have come to believe that after the original sin, God ammended his "rules" and included things not originally meant for us, as times changed, etc. I don't have all the answers - heck, I don't have 1% of the answers...lol...I'm just going along learning all I can and trying to apply what makes sense to my life.
I hope for you many blessings and a healthful life,
Marnie
