Re: No bread - then why in the Bible?
i do know that what passes for grain today is not what the ancients used, or even recently like in europe. i quit eating wheat because the gluten was rough on me. i get along fine with spelt, pure organic spelt, and i hear that kamut is the grain of the bible and ancient egypt.
i am, for once, at a loss on a bible question. i do know the lord would not give us something bad. "if you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father give good to them that ask him?"
remember also, these days are not like jesus' time. we have much more corruption of the environment to contend with. extra measures may be well to take.
it reminds me also of the question to jesus about divorce. he started his answer with, "in the beginning it was not so, but because of the hardness of your hearts..." and this could easily compare to the beginning where we only ate fruits and herbs. i do think we have come full circle.
"the lord created man upright, but he has sought out many devices." true life walking with god was in the garden and that is where we must look for our answers.
