Thanks so much for your response! I questioned what Essene Gospel of Peace was because I didn't believe it came from the bible - and it doesn't! I did some extensive research today in the bible and found that in Leviticus 11 God tells us exactly what we are allowed to eat and are not allowed to eat. What is clean and unclean. And that includes meat. Not all of it, but some. My original post originated from MH's theory of eating, and now after doing some research, I understand that MH's theory is in essence whatever was in the Garden of Eden was good for you and God-made for human consumption. But after we (Adam and Eve) ruined that, I think that all bets are off as far as that goes. I do believe that God provided for our physical well being in the Garden of Eden and that we can still benefit from what was there (and the equivelant of that that we have today) but the rules are more lax now also. And yes, you make a good point about what they had then and what we have now and the two being so different due to pollution and chemical sprays, etc. I was really hoping that MH would pop in here and explain his theory to me, but he must be taking a well deserved vacation from the forum :)

I'm just trying to learn as much as I can as I feel that as a mother and wife it is my job to make sure my family is healthy. There are so many different protocols out there and so many great testimonies for all of them - but they are conflicting in a lot of ways. So this just confuses me further. Thanks to everyone who responded to my question - I feel that I"m slowly starting to "get it".

Oh, and someone suggested the Maker's Diet - well I went to that website and checked it out, but it seems to me that there are way too many supplements in that "diet". The fundamentals seem to be good, but I almost got the feeling that they are, above all else, trying to make money, not just to educate me. And I realize that a lot of people in this business are out to make money along with educate, I just find it wrong that a christian is trying to benefit from another's misfortune - again, it wasn't the cost of the book, but of all the supplements that they suggested in ratio to real food (that is of course sold by them). Maybe the actual book is a lot different than what is on the website, but when I think of something called the Maker's Diet, I want to know what God would have us eating. Not all the supplements, but real food.
