I just had the Mirena IUD inserted 4 days ago and I was really freaked out about it too. I have to admit, it does feel really strange knowing that you have something inside you.....period. It has been at the back of my mind since I got it. I was very scared to have sex, but did and didn't feel anything unusual and my husband said he didn't feel it either so now I'm less freaked out I guess. For me, having it inserted wasn't so bad, but I just had a baby 9 weeks ago and I know that makes a difference. Don't be too nervous. I think as more and more time goes by you will just forget it's there. It's getting easier for me every day.

I'm more worried about these postings about inability to loose weight and Acne since those are both things that I told my doctor I was concerned about and she recommended the Mirena. Has your doc told you about these side effects?
