Mirena IUD and depression?

Hey all. I have been on a couple different birth controls since I was 16 years old. (I am 19 now). The main problems I have with them are Acne and depression. I had a bit of Acne before I got on birth control, but no problems with depression. I got on Ortho Cyclen and had slight problems with both Acne and depression. Then my doctor reccommended that I take Desogen. That was big mistake. I got severely depressed/suicidal, very moody, and my skin got even worse. I got back on the Ortho Cyclen, but I am still not satisfied. I was considering getting a copper IUD inserted. But my periods are already heavy, and copper IUD's are supposed to make them even heavier. Then I heard about the Mirena IUD. It has a small amout of Progesterone that it releases over 5 years. Supposedly, the strength of it is very weak (about 1/7th the strength of a BC pill.) And since it doesn't enter your blood stream, the side effects are said to be minimal. Plus it makes your period lighten by 85-97 percent. This sounds awfully appealing to me. However, I am still skeptical. Do you think that the Mirena IUD would have a negative effect on me?
