Re: So you raise little bible-bots...
Somewhere in all that we are almost on the same page Wiz! It's the part where you find God in all things around you. That's something very special that not all persons can find easily. Me, I can feel God in all things. And If I can't feel God's presence, I'm not sure I want to be there. That's something that some people find easy and other's find difficult. Try to remeber that it isn't necessarily easy.
Those ancient histories are also more relevent than is often thought. Recall the quote saying that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. So, in that aspect, the bible (and other books) is a teaching tool for today. We still can repeat the mistakes of 4000 yrs ago today! That ancient history is also a window into how a culture's moral structure is set up. Comparison would show that the 10 commandments are reflected in the laws of today. Thou shalt not kill is an obvious one! (For illustration's sake) Those same ancient history books are also the only window into the teachings that we now follow. Yes, they are a person's written account of personal experience, but that is what their treasure really is! You can't argue against someone's experience. You can scoff at it, you can laugh, you caneven be in awe, but you can't argue against it. Testamonials are the strongest tools for teaching we have.
