How and why?

I have come to believe that the version of 'his way' that you mention is a human construct. It was manufactured, not handed down from God. All religions are man-made approximations of what their founders believed was 'of the divine'

God doesn't hand-out specific religious instructions anyway. God is far, far beyond personification and human attributes. Spiritual principles and teachings come through 'tuned in' souls, and through the 'realized master'(as Jesus was), however the moment that these great souls pass from the physical plane, their teachings become history -- perhaps 'scared' history in some cases, but history none the less, and should be treated as such. (And by the way, Jesus was not the only 'realized master', just the one that I resonate with best.)

I know you are convinced of the righteousness of your beliefs, but I see it as narrow and limiting. However, you are welcome to them with my blessing. I would never presume to suggest anyone else's vision is right or wrong. If it works for you, it is good and proper.

And one last thing... who says we all don't have 'holiness' within us? That we all can't sow the seeds and grow the fruits of that Jesus planted in his followers? Some of us don't need the bible, or Christian doctrine to awaken Christ Consciousness. The pattern of Jesus is available in many different (and less confining) places than in the traditional bible...

... and the object is progress, not perfection. Just like AA...
