More spiritual grade school thinking...

come on.....do you really BELIEVE that God is going to come again on a "war horse...with flaming eyes...because he's angry". These are words and images meant to scare the masses into living in fear of judgement. I don't mean to sound patronizing, but we must look at the bible with open eyes....not blindly believing that it is literal truth.

My question has always been, why is it so difficult to believe that there are and have been many many enlightened people in the world? and that Jesus was one of them? Buddha another? and all of the Dali Lhamas yet others? Yet those who go by the bible....and the bible alone....would rather believe that Mary became pregnant with Jesus sans coitus and that God will come again with fire in his eyes. My point is that those beliefs were a good way to introduce religion and respect into the eyes of children but at some point we need to see the light.... Tweet
