Re: Chris!!
Chris and Brandon,
thanks for your contributions of info to this thread. since i started it, i'm interested in the experiences people have to share here, but somehow your messages didn't get automatically forwarded to me as did previous messages on the thread.
i agree that you've just got to experiment and trust your gut. i've tried a lot of different mainstream and alternative therapies over the last 4 years to deal with fatigue, depression, poor digestion, and recently skin cancer. while it was tough when i first began to realize that i was susceptible to getting sick and weak and even dying, over the longer term it can all be a blessing. the exploration of healing possibilities can push a person to expand their awareness and open new doors and live a richer (i'm not talking bout money) happier life. the sickness is kind of like the treasure map.
the thing that interests me now is how connected every facet of one's being is--physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual....--and how work on one level can affect all the other levels. for a long time i thought that just working with the mind would solve all my problems, but it didn't, and recently i have been exploring different kinds of bodywork--craniosacral, thai massage, etc.--that feel like in combination with the emotional exploration and spiritual exploration i've been making are having profound results--amazing shifts in my physical energy and emotional energy, and periods of awakeness and joy that feel like what i've been searching my whole life for. ( i also came from a religious upbringing and a lot of confusing emotional stuff to sort through that i think affected my physical well-being. by the way, the big bang theory seems to me as much like a fairy tale as any religious story--i.e. "there was an explosion and out of nothing came everything". in my own health related explorations, i've found "scientific people" often as closeminded as the religious folks.)
good luck in your exploration and i hope you report back on what you find.
