I had to respond to the last part of your post - about the psychospiritual connection with health. I've been chasing good health for years, and have made a lot of improvements over where I was ten or fifteen years ago, but the emotional/spiritual side is a huge, huge player. It may even be everything... I'm on & off the Body Ecology diet all the time. I think there are some great principles, but I don't feel it's right for everyone, and there are so many differing opinions on what's healthy to eat - particuarly the debates over meat, cooked or uncooked foods, Blood Type Diet s, paleo diets, etc. I think all you can do in the end is listen to your body.

Oh, and what I was getting at before - my boyfriend eats pretty much whatever he wants, and he's really healthy. He's generally vegetarian and has his share of vegetables every day, but also has Sugar every day. His PH is perfect. It drives me crazy... But he is working on himself on a whole other level. He meditates every day - has been for probably 25 years, practices Falun Gong, and makes time every day for physical activity. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's as strong and healthy as he is, despite his diet.
