Re: Forty-Day Water Fast
Thank you, thank you, thank you Chrisb1... seriously... This gives me some things to ponder and at least eases my stress. I wanted to share something else that may be a factor. I don't know how much research has been done on this and I do not know if you are uncomfortable or put off by the subject, and if so, I sincerely apologize. I do not mean to be offensive.
Prior to the fast, whenever the Sacred Feminine is present I would have extreme responses such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. These symptoms generally start 2 to 4 days prior to the visit and last until about day 2. It is now time for another visit and I was wondering if you had come across any information that addressed the hormonal effects of this cycle on the fasting experience.
Current symptoms: Day 36
1.) Vomiting every morning about 30 min to an hour after waking. It starts with a constant need to spit, followed by the gagging, followed by the vomiting.
2.) Vomit is clear. The release is in powerful gushes of water and is ended with dry heaving, as if to say, "the stomach is now empty." The vomit is odorless and tasteless. Although, when it gets closer to being dry heaves there is a slight acid like taste.
3.) Nausea is strong in the morning to mid afternoon and gives a slight break til early evening to night. Around 7ish to 9, it just depends, strong nausea returns and persists until early morning. During this time I cannot lay down or I will vomit.
4.) Flagellation is infrequent and rare, but when it does occur it is odorless.
5.) Burping is constant and I find myself beating my chest (in true Tarzan fashion *snicker*) to get some relief, which I get for about 10 to 15 minutes. The burps are usually in groups of 4. The burps are odorless.
6.) My breath is not carrying any type of foul odor and is actually odorless, even upon waking. My husband is amazed.
7.) Statements 4, 5, and 6 regarding odor are supported by my family.
8.) The aversion to water has returned, a couple of sips and I am on the way to the toilet to return them (the sips) back to the world. This is the secondary factor in my vomiting.
9.) My olfactory senses are extremely heightened and has been since about day 12 and continues to increase every day. I can smell the toxins on the breath or body of people walking past me in the grocery store. It smells like the sickness you smell on patients or in the hallways or rooms of a hospital. I can smell the fresh fruit and vegetables on the shelves very clearly (even when I am not close to them). Cooked foods smell awful. Since the inception of the fast, I can't stand the smell of cleaning aids, colognes, perfume, candles (even lightly scented), etc. I feel as if I'm going to puke. Well, I guess you get my point from those few examples.
10.) For 7 days, I have experienced extreme itching of my eyes lids (right where the eyelashes grow). They alternate eyes, every other day the other eye will be itching, followed by a pain that mimics being hit in the eye. This is still going on. I have tried GenTeal eye drops, in case they were dry, but it doesn't help. Warm compresses to my eye for 30 minutes or so, generally brings me some relief.
Okay, sorry for all of that, but I wanted to try to paint a more thorough picture that you can juggle around. There are a lot of factors here to consider and I respect the fact that you may not have time to get to me right away, but any insight would be helpful because as you can hear this is getting worse instead of better, but I am hanging on =)
Thank you in advance for your time and help with this. Many blessings,
Ny
