Re: Food Combining Principles, Food pulverizing, Chrisb1 :)
Hi Mighty,
the information you have provided is basically correct: fruit and vegetables are not good partners in the digestive process.
It was the experience of Natural Hygiene (through trial & error) that they do not combine very well, leading to imperfect digestion/indigestion and assimilation.
Whether consumed as smoothies or juices, vegetables and fruits are still classified as "food" and should be sipped/masticated thoroughly with saliva (as with solid food) for the maximum compatibility with the digestive juices.
It was also discovered by Natural Hygiene that fruit in all states of composition: solid, liquid, pulp/smoothies, (rather than vegetables) requires less digestive energy than any other food.
Therefore both fruit and vegetables should be taken at separate times, with fruit (including their juices and pulp/smoothies) being consumed in the mornings, and likewise with vegetables (including their juices, pulp/smoothies) at a later time of day for ideal digestion.
This also places less of a strain on digestive energy: the most demanding of all energies that your body requires, which "frees-up" this energy for other bodily tasks, including elimination.
