Re: I got the book
Hi bobbysb,
It's good to hear from you, but I'm sorry your still having such a hard time. I know it will get better, though. I talked to someone at the Gerson Institute yesterday cause I was so sick and she said that Charlotte Gerson has the best book about this type of healing. I ordered it, so if you want to wait til I get it, then I can tell you which one is best. Also, Kathryn's book is short, so unless you want the recipes or in depth explanations, it might not be worth your while.
Don't feel bad about going off the deep end with the peanut butter and cereal. I've done that a million times in the last eighteen years that I've been trying to get better. Sometimes it's good that your body won't let you starve it for too long. One time my vision was really blurry and I was at the mall and broke down and bought a bag of potato chips from a health food store. After eating about a quarter of the bag I noticed that my vision wasn't blurry anymore. Here my liver probably needed some oil. I think we need a lot more oil that cancer patients. We don't lie around all day and have someone taking care of us. Our bodies need enough oil to function. I keep unsalted organic butter, almond butter, raw cashews, almonds, and pecans around and have some of at least one of these with every meal. Sometimes I overdo it and I don't feel good for a little while, but I get over it.
Do you drink your juices away from your meals. I drink my juice and then start cooking. Are you using green apples? The sweet ones bother me, too. Beets have alot of sugar, but also they can jam up my liver really quickly. I'm starting to dilute my juices with a little bit of water, too, and that seems to help. I finally got some celery, I think
Celery is important cause it has minerals that balance out the naturals sugars. We need the sugars, but we need to balance them.
Celery + green apple + green leaf lettuce + water works the best for me.
If less enemas and juices makes you feel better, you might be detoxing too quickly, so just do that. Kathryn actually has a plan where you don't even do juices and just following the diet makes you detox, just more slowly. If that's what you need to do to function, then do it and don't worry. I'm trying to do them now by just lying on my right side for the whole 15 minutes, because that does seem to be what most recommend.
When I get so tired that I can't move, if I can get myself in the bathtub with some Miracle II soap, by the time I get out I feel much better and I always have at least a couple of hours that I can get things done or go places. You can read about it on-line, but if you want to try it, I can send you a sample. If you want to go straight to buying it, we found someone who sells it for $9 a bottle. Also, though, I could send you a sample of something that I got for relieving symptoms in your digestive tract. It's called comfort. If your interested in that let me know, and I'll tell you more.
I'm still not doing great, either, but I know I'm on the right track, so I'm staying with it. I know that these things take time. Whatever you do, you need to keep on eating three meals a day, even if they are small. I'll send you some sample meal plans later.
I'll talk to you later, and
de nada,
Adios
Betsy
