I’ve done it a few times with great success! It makes the cleanse much more effective without all that food in the way. Actually fasting is a cleanse in its own right, but doing a deliberate colon cleanse simultaneously, I think, is fantastic. I felt like a million bucks after a few days (once you get over the hump of the fast, ya know?) I always drink vegetable juices and take minerals and supplements when I fast to make sure I’m getting some nutrition... but I’m sure you already know lots about all that stuff. Hi Lyn Marie, I’ve done the P&B shake/cleanse thing several times. I recommend taking some sort of natural laxative along with it, as many others recommend on this forum. I personally like the Chocolate Smooth Move Tea by Traditional Medicinals, but there are all sorts of options in pill form or what-have-you in health food stores. Regarding the oil substances and the enteric coated capsules. I think it is HIGHLY likely that the oily substance you saw in your elimination was infact the contents of the enteric coated fish oil capsules. Any time your doing a cleanse, your sweeping contents out of your GI track a lot faster than usual. Also, the surface villi of your intestines is becoming coated in the psyllium stuff. I have noticed while taking the Psyllium and Bentonite, that sometimes the bentonite can cause the bowel to be harder and a little bit more sticky in the colon before exiting. I was told that taking the Psyllium sometimes can cause the bowels to be to compact and actually do the reverse if not careful. It sounds like what you passed was mucoid plaque. If you look at photos of mucoid plaque it is very long and stringy and like you said, is shaped like the tract. Though after doing the P&B cleanse for only a few days it would normally take longer to expel but you were doing quite a few shakes per day which makes me think it was mucoid plaque...also the bloating caused could be due to starting the shakes at a high amount per day. And yes, that’s all I do when I start getting ”that burning” or twinges of stabbing pains in my bladder (the beginning of either a bladder infection or a bout with the Interstitchel Cystitis, IC). Just a note to you on the bladder infections. I know the drugs that the doctors give you on this are really do a number on your system. I have found that concentrated Cranberry caplets work wonders for bladder/tract infections. as soon as you feel it coming on, I take 3 caplets, and then 2-3 with each meal for 2-3 days and then decrease to 1-2/meal for a week. ;~) Sherri   [End]

Hi Abbasi, I read your post and had a bit of a hard time understanding how long you were passing the gray-black-green rubbery material while taking the higher doses of psyllium. If you passed a substantial quantity of this material, it is possible that you cleared it all out at that time. Some people require 3-5 psyllium and bentonite shakes per day before they begin seeing mucoid plaque. If I understand correctly, you are only taking two shakes a day...this could be another reason why you are not passing anything out of the ordinary. Please tell me why oh why that i have done bento and phyl shakes 4 three weeks with both liquid bento and now powdered and NOTHING atall has come out . Hi, PTree I have long history of Ulcerative Colitis (5 years). I have beed using fair amount of Psyllium hsk for more than two years. About 8 months before I increased the dose of psyllium and after a month or so I found gray, black, green rubbery stools (almost 6 times a day): this continued for 2 months and then stool got normal color but with a bit pungent oder for about 1 month. I tried the Cleanse Smart alone for two days, and nothing, so I got brave and bought the Psylium and Bentonite, if only for my husband to use..we are doing this together which makes it more fun. Hello Scientist. I’ve used CleanseSmart and FiberSmart about a month ago. My results were pretty good but I didn’t pass anything like the pictures. So I decided to add Bentonite and use my remaining FiberSmart with it. I ended up finishing the FiberSmart and only used the Bentonite for a little while and got constipated. So I stopped taking it. I got hives the last 2 times I took psyllium. I worked with latex gloves for about 10 years, so I think I may have developed a hypersensitivity. Do other types of fiber work. I have been using FiberSmart to help alleviate cleanse symptoms during my general, parasite and liver cleanses. So far no mucoid, but I haven’t tried Bentonite. Hmmm....Hypoguy on the Active Forum would definitely say that the Master Cleanse fast is not for hypoglycemic people. But I have a friend who has hypothyroidism and she went on a 10 day MC and felt amazing....clear, energized...really great. I wonder if you wouldn’t be able to do the MC? Better to use liquid bentonite...1 Tablespoon per shake. If you only have access to powdered bentonite you need to hydrated it with water to the consistency of thin yogurt...semi-pourable. Hi there, I just started the P&B shakes today and like the other message a little nervous about what I am going to go through. Can you use the Psyllium Husks Capsules(500mg each tablet) to replace the powder form during the cleanse. I tried the benonite (white Plains) and the Psyllium shakes and don’t like to drink it down for obvious reasons. I was thinking that the detox could still work with taking the benonite clay (1 teaspoon to start) and (1 - 4 tablets) as suggested on the bottle for (Psyllium capsules) and the 2-4 glasses of water separate with the capsules.
