I’ve decided to start another P&B cleanse since I desperately need it and was wondering about the amount of psyllium. I’m pretty sure I remember the last time I did the cleanse I used 1 tsp. psyllium husks but when I just looked it up it says to use 1 tsp. powdered psyllium OR 1 Tbs. psyllium husks. Ok, so I’ve read the book by Blaylock about Excitotoxins a few years ago and initially was gunghoe about avoiding MSG at all costs. I’m wondering if I should be concerned about the amount of snails that are on my patio. Lately we’ve had a lot, they’re really small, like the size of a pea. Ok, I’m wondering if I have a tapeworm. I’ve done some cleansing in the past (a few years ago) bowel, parasite, liver and some fasts. Well, my son’s ears are still red so it’s looking like it’s the right thing to do at this point since it’s been about 4 weeks. Well good, it sounds like things are coming together for you. That was our belief also that if we needed something done in an emergency then we were all for it. I’m sure the eye drops will be ok, most babies do get them so if you can’t avoid it don’t stress over it. If your baby needs to go to the nursery to be checked out then see if your partner or someone you trust can go also. Hi Kim! Thanks for your reply! Yeah, it’s been practically 2 years since I’ve had a period. I never had regular periods though which is why it took forever to conceive my son. I didn’t start today and I don’t feel crampy anymore so I don’t really know what’s going on but I can definitely tell something is different. Only time will tell I guess. Thanks again.

What are your thoughts on vaccines for your animals, in particular for cats? I read a couple posts here about it. Is rabies really necessary? I’ve neglected to take my cat to the vet the past 2 years but up until then he has always had his shots every year. We have a 15 month old son whom we have chosen not to vaccinate and so I figured I wouldn’t want to vaccinate my cat as well for similar reasons. He is mainly an indoor cat but he does go outside a little each day. And what about feline leukemia and distemper? I remember him always getting those too. Thanks so much!!

Oh my gosh, my cat does this often! It drives me crazy because he leaves big wet spots on the couch. He just licks and licks the same spot over and over. My cat used to suck his tail too......and occassionally he’ll do it now. I’m not sure what brings it on but I think he first started doing it because he was abandoned as a baby and probably feels comforted by it. When we got him his eyes were still closed and I had to bottle feed him.

He’s been fixed for a long time and we’ve had him for about 7 years. We had a baby 15 months ago and that has changed things a lot around here. I don’t hardly spend any time with my cat now. Plus my son now can chase him so maybe that’s why. My husband just left a couple days ago on a long trip so he may be acting out about that too, although he did it when he was still here so I’m not sure. Hi there! That is terrible that pediatrician treated you that way! My son is a grazer also. I did take him in for another weight check and he lost a little again but thankfully the peditrician thinks he’s just fine and that he’s just going to be on the slender side. As long as he gradually gains even though he isn’t ”on the chart” so to speak she isn’t worried about it. [End]

I hear ya! I don’t agree with making all children fit into some chart. Sure there is going to be an average range but I think too much emphasis is put on it. I’m interested to see what the doctor is going to say. I’m not too worried about it because my son looks great and is very healthy and active. When I took him to the doctor for his 1 year checkup she did say it’s probably his activity level, plus he wasn’t eating that many solids then. So she told me to increase his solids and that we would just monitor his weight. My son is constantly on the go, plus my husband and I are on the slender side. Yes, he does seem satisfied after eating and he is very happy most of the time. :) [End]

Hey there everyone! It’s been so long since I posted. Anyway, my son who is now 14 months hasn’t been gaining much weight, in fact he loses some then gains it back. He weighs 18 1/2 pounds. His pediatrician has been doing monthly weight checks the last 2 months or so (he had one yesterday and lost an ounce) so she wants us to come back in 2 weeks. I’m not sure what she’s going to say or propose. My son is still nursing but he also eats solids 3 times a day (about 1 and 1/2 jars of food each time).
