Hi Sherri, just a note regarding bladder infections. I have Interstitchel Cystitis, a condition brought on by numerous bladder infections. It is irreversable and causes microscopic blisters in the inside bladder lining. Anyway, what I've learned (and have done a lot of research on this) is that the bladder lining is already irritated and the long time standing "cranberry juice, etc." remedy does nothing except irritate the lining even more. Do not drink anything that will irritate the bladder. Instead, when you feel that horrid sensation that a bladder infection is coming on, dilute a teaspoon of Arm & Hammer Baking soda in a cup of water and drink it. This solidifies the acid irritating the lining and soothes it.
I can't stress to you how important this is. Doctors who advise drinking tons of cranberry juice when you have a bladder infection are old fashion, out-of-sync, and un-educated in this area, really. Even some Urologists who have no education of Interstitchel Cystitis. Check out the "Interstitchel Cystitis Foundation" on the web for additional info.
