I felt the same way - I was able to relax, not use condoms, and all that. Last July my wonderful, brave husband underwent a vasectomy. I’ve been on the Pill for about 8 years now and we’re both eager for me to get off of these little pseudo-hormones. Normally a vasectomy is a very simple operation. After being shaved..there are only 2 very minor incisions ( under anethetic) in the scrotum where the tubes are pulled thru, cut, ends closed off and tucked back in. When I went, it was like an assembly line. There were 3 or 4 other guys having surgery. I felt no pain, just a little tugging. People should not be afraid of this operation from a qualified surgeon. I am post vasectomy for about 10 years now. I was wondering if there are any similar experiences. Specifically, (or at least I think something has changed), my testicles don’t hang like they used to. They are always up and tight to my body. Kinda’ like right after a swim in cold water. I once heard that the male body eventually builds antibodies against the sperm. As I understand, the temperature of testicles is regulated by the distance to the body and should be lower than normal body temperature for optimum sperm production. Any ideas?   [End]

My DH had a vasectomy 14 years ago and has had nothing but problems and regret. He has constant pain and the feeling of a rupture. He gets an inflamed epididymus often. It also messes up other parts of your body. In Chinese medicine, it has to do with the lung meridian. He regrets it more than anything! The doctor told him that if he had it reversed it might not even help the pain because he has had it for so long.   [End]

Hi, there. For what’s it’s worht, my DH’s discomfort lasted almost until the time of his check up (2 weeks post-op). I know - that site scared the beejesus out of me. I’m sure those things happen, but I believe (and hope) they’re few and far between. I know of several guys who’ve had the ”V” as well, and without any problems. I’m sure your DH will be fine - I completely understand where you’re coming from! I’m thankful there’s a site like Cure Zone - it’s helped me with this as well as with other health issues. I had a vasectomy 27 years ago at age 33. No problems thus far. My father did the same thing and at age 60 he had prostate cancer. We do not know if it was related. Hope this helps you.   [End]

I had it done about 15 years ago. I do not know if i can blame it for the health problems I had in following years though, there are many factors. I think my problem was bad teeth, and after I had them removed everything improved, many pains and all headaches disapeared. Since that recovery happened, I doubt it was from getting a vasectomy. Still, maybe I wouldn’t do it again, because now I have a better knowledge of the body, and doing these proceedures might disrupt some horemones or something, however unlikely it may be. But I don’t really regret it, it worked for birth ...

My husband and I decided, after doing much research (we thought) and talking with a urologist, that a vasectomy would be the best birth control choice for us (we don’t want children, ever).
