i am now 67 and had my vasectomy 13 years ago. i did not experience any loss of interest in sex; however, it my belief that there is a psychological component, after the procedure has been accomplished. while someone may think about the impact of a vasectomy, it is only after it's done that reality sets in," i am out of the gene pool, i'll never make another child.' i believe that there is a very primitive, non-rational mind set that is active here. Can that bring on depression? Does Depression surpress libido? yep. but its not the actual vasectomy that is the cause of the loss; because sex continued to be great, certainly 'worry-free,' until my wife began menopause and herself began to lose interest in sex, but not in our 'Love..' The only problem left is mine; that is, i'm still interested in sex but my partner isn't, and no amount of "cuddling" has been able to replace 'the real thing.'
