Any experience with a vasectomy?

My husband and I decided, after doing much research (we thought) and talking with a urologist, that a vasectomy would be the best birth control choice for us (we don't want children, ever). I've been on the Pill for 7 years and both of us were concerned about the long-term effects it could have, if I were to stay on it another 15 years or so. Not to mention, the cost goes up every few months.
So two weeks ago, my husband had a vasectomy. Just yesterday, I found this site and I am so angry at myself for not having come across it sooner. I'm so scared and paranoid now that something awful could happen to him.
I know a few guys who've had the procedure and have not had the awful complications mentioned on the website. At least, not yet. But I'm so terrified now. Why couldn't I have found this site a month ago, when I was TRYING to find if there could be any complications?
