Jim Jones was, indeed, a narcissist along with Adolf Hitler, David Koresh, and other notable figures in history. In addition, many artists are narcissistic, but tend to focus their tendencies through artistic means, i.e. Pablo Picasso.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do to "fix" your sister or mend your relationship with her. Narcissism is one of those disorders that is learned, not organic. For all intents and purposes, only a person of tremendous courage and will to heal can actually begin the long, hard process of evolving into an empathetic human being. This is precisely what the narcissist lacks: empathy. They cannot (or, will not) allow themselves to feel another human being's emotions unless it brings them immediate pleasure.

The Mayo Clinic Behavioral site has one of the best descriptions of NPD that I've ever read, but I can't seem to find the site to paste it for you! LOL! Anyhow, check it out and rest assured that you are just fine and you can learn how to live around a narcissistic family member without being their victim.
