Re: The bible is not the word of God that we are to live by.
But what God tells me is clearly different than what He tells you.
According to you, that means I'm hearing things.
No, I don't mean God is telling me to be gay, I mean He's telling me that it's my choice to make.
The dividing line between good and evil for me comes down to respecting God's will, which was that we all have free will, and in a social context, that means -- everyone makes his own decisions for himself, and we respect the right of everyone else to make their own decisions for themselves, too.
The individual makes the choice. I can decide to be gay or not, and that's OK, but trying to force you to be gay (or, say, raping you, or murdering you, or stealing from you, or...) would be me forcing a choice on you, which is the only evil there is.
It
is black and white. Either one chose it for one's self or one didn't.
And either you trust in God's wisdom in granting us the right to make our own choices for ourselves -- i.e. free will -- or you don't.
