Re: This post will be a strain on your Christianity.
No, homosexuality is not okay in any sense. It is against God's will because it can't support procreation (Be fruitful and multiply), not that we should question. What I meant about being overly concerned with scripture is that it is often misinterpreted with a bias by the reader themselves (without being aware, attitude), not just misinterpreted by the scholars. The APPLICATION of what we read is the bigger problem. God speaks from a Godly point of view (the "many-one" concept), He is no respecter of persons because He has 6.5 billion children, but, here on earth, everybody wants special treatment from each other and there are many crimes of passion because of it.
Romans 2:29, Real circumcision (modern equivalent=devotion/sanctification) is a matter of the heart. God looks at the heart, not how well we can read and follow the instructions that WE imagine that we were given. That is what we do with scripture, we IMAGINE it to mean whatever we are accustomed to (our attitudes), in other words, each individual will interpret the bible according to their heart (this will be done unknowingly because of lack of conscience). Christians are taught to think using our HEARTS, does this make sense? How can anyone figure anything out with their heart? The god of confusion has handicapped us starting at the bottom. This has happened because of the "strong delusion" and the blind lead the blind. Misinterpretation is no longer confined to the book, it is our thoughts. So it becomes very important to learn to be conscious of everything God meant a human being to be...soul AND spirit. Hebrews 4:12 says that the word of God (when His spirit speaks to us) pierces to the division of SOUL (everything that an individual is) and SPIRIT (their character/attitudes).
"I am who I am" would not condemn His offspring to a book, we condemn ourselves by following all of the generations throughout history who have found it easier to follow their own instructions than to trust our loving Father.
